Bottle, Currency, Change, Cash, PennyLet’s be honest, who does not wish to travel at least once per year? Learning new cultures, see beautiful places and meet new people. As fun as it seems, your money department may not have the capacity to strengthen your wanderlust. It’s easy for you to travel when you have an outstanding job and is able to spend money on lavish action such as travelling. However what if you are a student? Or someone that has difficulty managing your expenditures?
Here are some easy tips for you on how to save money for traveling:
1. Create a list of your monthly expenditures
As soon as you have a good idea of how much money you spend on your fixed expenses monthly, it’s not difficult to work out how much money you can put aside regularly. Realistic amount
Set the amount that you wish to save frequently and stick with it. Don’t set the value too high cause you’ll never know when you suddenly become unexpected expenses. Simply put aside a sum which is realistic to you. If you’re able to have your saving account linked together with you bank account which would be great. Just set-up few saving accounts specifically for each purpose; such as title them as travel, car, home or urgency. Set a fixed date each month where money from your bank accounts would be automatically transferred into your saving account. If it is impossible for you to set up several saving accounts, simply have one saving accounts where you are able to set the limit on how much you can draw. However, DO NOT use money from you saving accounts unless it is URGENT.
3. Limit going out or eating out
If you consider it, going out or eating out cost you a lot of money especially if you do it once a week. It is easy to spend around 50 dollars on food or beverages weekly, it might look okay to some people but why not spend that 50 dollars on your plane ticket to Philippines or Greece for instance.
If you’re able to find the opportunity to earn extra money by baby sitting your neighbour’s children, just do it! Even if the pay is not high, at least, you will have an extra income. So, why not? Use a saving jar
If you have a few additional coins or cash, just put it in your piggy bank. Be certain you buy one, where you can not easily take the cash out. If you are creative, you can even create your own saving jar that may appear more attractive and inspire you to place money in it.There are a good deal of DIY videos on YouTube on how to create one. You’ll be surprised by how much money you can save in a year, it is not going to be much, but hey its the effort that counts.
